Daddy Issues reimagines used condoms and their packagings by replicating them with hot glass and porcelain mould stamping. Used condoms are complex and ambivalent objects that embody a series of material and symbolic contradictions: they are intimate yet alien to our bodies, synthetic yet organic, erotic yet abject. In this work, the fake wastes are presented as precious, delicate and refined jewels, displayed in a setting that parodies jewellery store merchandizing—thereby emphasizing the concept of desire and vanity.
